Bridge Run 2016

 

-post information about the group benefiting from the race

 

-use the file downloaded from RaceWire to email past competitors (before next yearŐs race)

 

-use the downloaded spreadsheet as the basis for the result

 

-consider using long strips of paper to hold taped race numbers

 

-consider starting near the finish line and using more of the fort property (keep the race in grass) (it still will be virtually as the base of the bridge

 

-explore ways to engage the Vermont running community

 

-no need to color code

 

-Super race with still much growth potential

 

-I will inquire at Vermont Sun if they have a race advertising network. Also the Middlebury Co-op has a good bulletin board. Karen

 

-put up signs on the bridge/on the road advertising the run in advance, so all those Vermonters will see it when they're driving over here to the Empire State

  -I talked with race wire about their e-mail blast feature and definitely want to do that for next year. We also have the reg forms with e-mail addresses from over the year's which we can also include. We need to get the race up on racewire in Jan as well. Another thought is race name change? Every race some people say they wish it could include the bridge...since it doesn't maybe we should change the name? Crown Point State Historic Site Challenge? Crown Point Historic 5 K? Info about benefit group posted up somewhere on race day is a good idea. I did have that info posted on racewire. The downloaded spreadsheet for results? Only has racewire folks... What I had available for race was combo of the two groups and then we still have to add last minute race day folks. No color coding is ok with me.

 

-I would also definitely streamline the end prize giveaways by bundling prizes more and just announcing a further list of winners is hanging up. What has slowed me down is not having a winner in each category as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners not always getting their prizes leaving me with more giveaways than I ever planned on. I was just going to talk about my solution at the next meeting. 

 

-Let's look at using the bridge. I think we could pull it off. Start at mid point of bridge..
